Project Narrative

Vinod Residence is a thoughtfully crafted urban home situated on a compact 3-cent plot in Vennala, Kochi. Designed as an exploration of small-scale tropical living, the project turns site constraints into opportunities, resulting in an efficient layout that accommodates all living spaces without any feeling of crampness. The architecture relies on stack ventilation, open-plan spaces, and double-height voids to foster a sense of volume and connectivity. Large window openings and an earthy material palette bring in natural light and light breezes, visually expanding the interiors while staying true to the studio's rooted modern vernacular.
